Celine Dion/ Alyssa

 Narrator: Celine Dion was born in a small town of Charlemagne, Quebec, with a singing voice that her mother encouraged. By the age of five she was performing for everyone who would listen to her. Her album made an instant star in Quebec. The following year she competed and won a gold medal at the Tokyo World Song Festival. Her career got stronger and stronger, and in 1987 she produced a new album called Incoqnito, which became a huge success. Rene Angelil: I am Celine Dion’s manager, and I am glad about it, she has a great voice and amazing songs. Now we got married and she took 2 years off her work to have her baby. In 2002 she returned to the music world with a new hit album and contract to play again in Las Vegas, Nevada Mother: When Celine was born she had a singing voice that I always wanted to hear. In 1980 I brought an agent named Rene Angelil, who believed in her voice. In 1981 she released her first record called La Voix Du Bon Dieu that was  French for the Voice of God. Mario Lemieux/ Rohan

 Narrator: Hello My name is Mario Lemieux I was born in October, 5 1965 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I was a famous Olympic Hockey player. Character 1: I started my Professional Hockey career with the Pittsburg Penguins. During my hockey career I was given two nicknames “Super Mario” and “the magnificent one.”  Character 2: I was an amazing hockey player. I went on to win the Calders Memorials Trophy as the best Rookie scoring 100 points. I also went to win The Art Memorial Trophy as the leagues leading scorer. Character 3: I topped the 100 point mark 10 times in a season. I led the penguins to both the Stanley cup titles.  I was sadly diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease.  Character 4: The Hodgkin’s disease was a form of cancer.  Later I retired due to chronic back problems. I was a member of the 2002 Olympics team. I am one of the most important players of all time. In 1997 I was inducted in the hall of fame. By:Rohan

John Byrne /Austin

Narrator: John Byrne was born in West Bromwich, England in July 6, 1950. While he lived in England he was interested in American superheroes. When John was eight years old he and his parents moved to Canada. This is what John has to say about his early life.

 

John Byrne: While I lived in England I was very interested in comics. I was also not the most academically gifted student in school. In 1970 I enrolled in Alberta Collage of Art and Design.

 

Narrator: Three years later in 1973 John Byrne left collage without graduating. After he left collage he started his career life writing and illustrating comics. He started working for Marvel and wrote many stories like the Dark Asylum. All of the comics he wrote with Marvel were illustrated by Terry Austin.

 

Narrator: Terry and John later worked with Claremont and they created new X-MEN comics. Here’s what Terry has to say about working with John.

 

Terry Austin: Working with John was really fun and his comics were great to read. He really is a great writer and a good friend. Later the comic books we created for Claremont helped make the title X-MEN very popular.

Arvil Lavigne/ Mary

Her singing career along with a manger came with she was sixteen.. She moved to New York to make her first album also co-writing didn’t meet her approval she moved to Los Angles. Avril’s first album came out in June 4 of 2002 and it was called Let Go.  By December Let go Sold over 15 million copies sold and was number one in the United Kingdom, Austria, and Canada.  Skater boy went  to the top ten in the United States , Australia , and  number one in Canada.   Avril- I am so excited to win the world Music award and three Juno’s which is added to my previous four so I now have currently seven Juno’s.  I have a star tattoo on my left wrist and a small pink heart. My name is Avril but my nickname is Avie.  In 2004 Lavigne won the World Music Award for favorite pop/rock artist and won three Juno Awards. She is married to Deryck Whibley from the pop punk band Sum 41. she lives in Toronto Canada.

Percy William/ Dante

  Percy Williams was born in Vancouver, Canada, on May 19th 1908. He was a Canadian sprinter. AT age 20 everyone including himself were shocked because he qualified for the 1928 Olympics at Amsterdam. In this event he won the 100meter and 200 meter sprint, going home with two gold medals. In 1930 he set a world record in the British Empire games.

 

 The Americans were so unhappy that they were getting beat by an unknown Canadian. So they held indoor track meets inviting Percy Williams. He won 19 out of 21 races and the Americans were furious. Everyone new that the Canadian was the best sprinter in the world.

 

 Percy pulled a muscle and this stopped his success for a while. He was in pain for a long amount of time. He never fully recovered. At the 1932 summer Olympics he came back to the Olympics. In this Olympic he made it to the quarter finals but got eliminated. Eventually he stopped his running career and became a insurance agent.

 Percy Williams lived with his mom until she died in 1977. For the rest of Williams’s life he had a lot of pain. He couldn’t take it anymore so he committed suicide in 1982.
